Welcome to Steps For The Future!
... a Performing Arts group for Adults with differences.
Steps For The Future is a Derby-based dance, drama and music group for adults with differences. At Steps we provide a safe and supportive environment for our students to showcase their talent and flourish as individuals. Our classes are student-led and we aim to promote to the public our skills, not our differences.
PLEASE SEE OUR "DONATIONS" PAGE FOR DETAILS OF HOW TO DONATE TO STEPS FOR THE FUTURE ON-LINE.
ANY HELP YOU OR YOUR COMPANY CAN PROVIDE WILL BE GRATEFULLY RECEIVED!
At the music sessions, experiment with the instruments and holding a microphone!
"I believe Steps for the Future offers its students the opportunity to engage in occupations that have meaning to them, leading to an increase in confidence and self esteem. Students are able to build skills in numerous areas including communication and interaction, adaptability, responsibility, problem solving and organisation.”
Julie, Specialist Occupational Therapist
“Steps has [...] provided a unique opportunity to develop socially with others, building supportive networks, friendships and links into parts of the community."
Rob, Social Worker
Dance yourself silly on a Monday or join in the drama classes on a Wednesday!
The past few years saw a variety of performances and activities hosted by volunteers, staff and students from Steps For The Future.
Due to the continuous hard work from all the students, staff and volunteers, Steps For The Future performed a fantastic 'Steptacular' at Deda Dance Centre in Derby in June (see 'performances' tab). This was the third time we have put on a show, so thanks from us for all the support you gave. Everyone worked very hard to create this show.
Steps have also been working with NCS doing disability awareness workshops for over 3 years and also work with Amber Valley CVS and Derby Carers.
